Lead Detected In Aurora Homes!

Aurora Water is warning residents of possible lead in plumbing.

Homes built before 1961 located near East 26th Avenue and North Peoria Street and East 11th Avenue and North Yosemite Street, in particular, are susceptible to this risk. The city has sent more than 600 letters warning of the potential problem and offering residents a free water test. If a homeowner qualifies, they will replace the pipes free of charge.

The city of Aurora has a Lead Service Line Replacement Program. See if you qualify here. For more information about lead and drinking water in Aurora, check out their web page.

Your local, family-owned Culligan offers free in-home water testing, and also supplies reverse osmosis drinking water filtration systems that help mitigate the risks of lead and other harmful impurities.
